Build the Room Around the Setup, Not Around RGB

Gaming Room Interior Design in Abu Dhabi

Gaming room interior design should make the setup comfortable, cool, quiet, organised and upgradeable before it tries to look futuristic. Bella designs gaming rooms in Abu Dhabi for PC gaming, console play, streaming, sim racing, multi-player family use and premium entertainment by resolving desk or screen position, ergonomics, glare, acoustics, power, data, cooling, cable routes, equipment ventilation, storage and lighting as one interior system. For 2026 budgeting, Abu Dhabi residential design references place concept design around AED 150–250/m², concept plus 3D around AED 200–300/m² and broader full-service design around AED 300–500/m². For the built room, current UAE market guides show a much wider spread: a light game-room refresh can start around AED 25,000–55,000, a standard room around AED 60,000–130,000, a premium gaming lounge around AED 130,000–280,000, and a cinema-and-games suite can reach AED 280,000–600,000+ depending on fit-out, acoustics, joinery, AV, HVAC, smart systems and equipment. These are external planning references, not fixed Bella prices.

Your gaming room does not have to look like a neon internet café. It can be a restrained adult PC room, a dark cinematic console lounge, a two-player setup, a streaming studio, a racing simulator room, a family games space or a luxury entertainment suite integrated into the architecture of your villa or apartment. We decide what you actually play, how many people use the room, what equipment must stay, what you may upgrade later and which technical systems need access—then the visual identity is designed around those facts.

What Gaming Interior Design Actually Solves

The room is successful when the equipment, body and architecture all fit each other.

Gaming interior design is the planning and detailing of a room around interactive entertainment equipment and the people who use it. Unlike a normal bedroom or media lounge, the interior may need to support a high-performance PC, multiple monitors, consoles, speakers, microphones, cameras, racing or flight controls, charging docks, VR equipment, collectibles, networking hardware and future upgrades in one controlled environment. A visually impressive setup can still fail if the monitor is too high, the chair hits a wall, the window reflects in the screen, the PC is trapped inside an unventilated cabinet, the microphone hears every hard-wall reflection or the only power point sits behind the user's knees.

We therefore start with use. A competitive keyboard-and-mouse player needs a different desk depth, peripheral zone and screen relationship from a console player sitting on a sofa. A streamer needs camera sightlines, flattering front light, background composition, microphone control and hidden cable routes. A racing simulator needs clear entry space, rigid cockpit dimensions, monitor or projection geometry and enough clearance that the rig does not turn the rest of the room into dead space. A shared family games room may need all of those activities to coexist without making the room look like permanent event equipment.

The design also needs to fit Abu Dhabi living. In an Al Reem Island apartment, the gaming setup may share a bedroom or study and needs to stay compact, quiet and visually controlled. In a Khalifa City or Mohammed Bin Zayed City villa, a spare room can become a dedicated multi-zone gaming suite with better acoustic separation and equipment storage. In a Yas Island home, the room may be designed as a more social console-and-entertainment lounge. The visual style changes, but the planning sequence stays the same: equipment, body position, power/data, cooling, acoustics, lighting, storage and only then decoration.

Gaming Room Interior Design Principles

Performance decisions come first; visual effects are layered around them.

The room needs to remain comfortable through long sessions and flexible enough to accept new equipment later. These principles keep the design from becoming an expensive backdrop that stops working when the hardware changes.

01

Design around the primary game mode

We identify whether the room is mainly PC, console, sim racing, streaming, VR, tabletop or mixed use. The dominant activity sets the first geometry: desk depth, screen axis, sofa distance, cockpit footprint, open floor area and where other functions can sit without interfering.

02

Set ergonomics before custom joinery

For desk-based use, the monitor should be directly in front of the user and positioned so a neutral head and neck posture is possible. OSHA workstation guidance uses at least about 20 inches / 50 cm of monitor distance as a baseline and places the top of the screen at or just below eye level. Actual gaming-screen distance still depends on screen size, resolution, vision and user preference, so we test the physical setup before fixing a desk or wall panel.

03

Treat heat as part of the room

PCs, monitors, consoles, amplifiers and simulator equipment release heat. A cabinet that hides the technology but traps hot exhaust is not good design. We reserve intake/exhaust space, keep service access and coordinate HVAC requirements where equipment load or room occupancy is significant.

04

Separate acoustics from sound isolation

Fabric panels, carpet, curtains and acoustic finishes can reduce room echo and improve microphone clarity, but they do not automatically stop sound reaching adjacent bedrooms. If sound isolation is a priority, wall, ceiling, door and service-penetration construction may need a separate acoustic strategy.

05

Make cables and upgrades accessible

Power, data, HDMI, USB, charging and speaker cabling should have routes that can be reached without removing decorative panels. We plan accessible cable trays, grommets, rear service zones and spare conduit where appropriate so a future monitor, console or network upgrade does not require demolition.

06

Use RGB as a controllable layer, not the only light

Colour-changing light can create atmosphere, but the room also needs clean task light, safe circulation light, display lighting and a comfortable low-level scene. We integrate RGB or addressable lighting with neutral white layers so the room can be used for gaming, cleaning, setup work and everyday living.

Gaming Room Interior Design Types

Your room should reflect what you play—not one generic gamer aesthetic.

These directions show how a gaming interior changes when screen type, seating, players, equipment and social use change.

PC gaming setup with multiple monitors, RGB lighting, gaming keyboard, desktop tower and organised desk accessories
Desk-Led Performance

PC Gaming Room

A PC gaming room is organised around desk depth, monitor geometry, keyboard/mouse space, tower ventilation, peripheral storage, network reliability and long-session ergonomics. We can keep the room restrained with dark timber and integrated light or make the setup more expressive with acoustic panels, RGB lines, collectibles and graphic colour.

Console gaming lounge with large television, game console, sofa seating and decorative gaming display elements
Social & Cinematic

Console Gaming Lounge

A console room is closer to a media lounge: large display or projector, sofa or recliners, controller charging, game storage, low-glare lighting and audio planned around several viewers. The room can stay warm and residential so it still works for films, sports and family use when no one is gaming.

Gaming and streaming workspace with computer monitor, neon accent lighting, wall art and content-creation equipment
Content Creation

Gaming & Streaming Studio

Streaming adds a second audience: the camera. We coordinate monitor and microphone positions, flattering face light, a controlled background, acoustic absorption, equipment storage, cable management and enough space to reach cameras, lights and PCs for maintenance.

Racing simulator setup with cockpit seat, steering wheel, multiple screens and immersive gaming equipment
Simulator-Focused

Racing & Flight Simulator Room

A simulator needs more than a dramatic cockpit. We plan entry and exit clearance, seat and pedal position, steering or flight controls, monitor/projection geometry, speakers, ventilation, cable routes and whether the rig should remain permanently visible or move aside for other uses.

Dual gaming room with two desks, two gaming chairs, computer setups, neon lighting and shared room planning
Two Users

Couple / Sibling Dual Gaming Room

Two complete setups need enough desk width, independent chair movement, balanced monitor positions, separate headset and storage zones, and power/data capacity for simultaneous use. A mirrored layout can look clean, but we only use symmetry if it works with doors, windows and the actual users.

Commercial

Esports & Gaming Center Interior

Commercial gaming rooms add higher occupancy, repeated stations, larger electrical and cooling loads, queueing, food or lounge functions, staff areas, network infrastructure and stronger acoustic zoning. These projects need commercial MEP, authority and operational coordination beyond a residential gaming room.

Gaming Room Layout Before Decoration

Fix screen, chair, desk, circulation and equipment clearance before drawing the feature wall.

The room should be dimensioned around actual hardware wherever possible. Generic furniture assumptions become expensive once a custom desk, media wall or acoustic panel system is fabricated.

Screen axisNeutral postureChair clearanceVentilationPower + dataFuture upgrades
01

PC desk depth must suit the real monitor arrangement

A single 27-inch monitor, triple-monitor setup and large ultrawide do not need the same desk depth. We test display footprint, stand or monitor arm, keyboard/mouse zone, speakers, camera and the user's preferred viewing distance before fixing the joinery.

02

Leave the chair a real movement envelope

The room plan must allow the gaming chair to roll back, rotate and let the user stand without hitting the bed, storage, door or another station. In a compact room, this clearance can determine whether an L-shaped desk, straight desk or wall-mounted workstation is the better solution.

03

Console seating follows the display, not a decorative sofa plan

For console gaming, the display size, resolution, audio system and number of users influence seating distance. We centre the main seats on the display as far as practical, then add side seating without compromising the primary view.

04

Simulator rigs need entry clearance and service space

Racing and flight cockpits can be long, heavy and difficult to move. We record the full equipment footprint including wheelbase, pedal deck, seat travel, monitor stand and access path before selecting the room or building surrounding joinery.

05

VR needs a genuinely clear zone

If room-scale VR matters, we define a clear play area away from sharp furniture, low pendants, glass corners and fragile display shelves. The VR zone should not depend on moving half the room every time it is used.

06

Streaming needs a second composition behind the player

The camera sees a different room from the gamer. We plan background depth, display shelves, brand or art elements, practical acoustic material and lighting so the shot looks intentional without turning the whole room into a permanent stage.

Gaming Room Materials & Technical Finishes

Choose surfaces for glare, sound, durability and access—not only for the photo.

Gaming rooms combine electronics, repeated contact, rolling chairs, darker light levels and sometimes strong sound. Materials therefore need to perform as well as they look.

Desk + Joinery

Durable worktops, laminate, veneer and ventilated cabinetry

The desk surface needs enough depth and edge comfort for keyboard-and-mouse use, while built-in cabinets should keep consoles, UPS units, routers and PCs accessible. We avoid fully sealing heat-producing hardware inside decorative boxes.

  • Desk depth and edge comfort
  • Ventilation openings
  • Cable access
  • Replaceable hardware clearances
Acoustic

Fabric-wrapped panels, PET felt, slatted systems and soft finishes

Acoustic treatment can reduce echo, improve voice communication and help a stream microphone sound cleaner. It works best when panel placement responds to room reflections rather than becoming a random geometric pattern.

  • Room echo
  • Microphone position
  • Fire/performance specification where applicable
  • Maintenance and dust
Floor

Low-pile carpet, carpet tile, LVT or hard floor with rug

A rolling gaming chair needs a stable surface. Carpet improves acoustic softness but should not be so deep that movement becomes difficult. Hard flooring is easier to roll on and clean but may need rugs or other absorption to control sound.

  • Chair movement
  • Acoustics
  • Cleaning
  • Cable routes and floor boxes
Walls

Matte paint, timber slats, acoustic panels and selected graphic surfaces

Low-sheen finishes help control unwanted reflections around screens. A wall can combine acoustic function, display storage and lighting rather than applying foam or decorative panels without a technical purpose.

  • Screen reflection
  • Panel access
  • Acoustic requirement
  • Future mounting locations
Display Storage

Collectible shelves, closed storage and dust-conscious display

Open shelves are useful for figures, consoles and trophies but create maintenance. We mix lit display sections with closed storage so controllers, boxes, cables and less attractive equipment do not become permanent visual clutter.

  • Shelf depth
  • Dust
  • Lighting heat
  • Glass access and cleaning
Technology Zone

Power, data, charging and service panels

The most important 'material' may be the infrastructure behind the wall. We reserve power, network, HDMI/USB paths, chargers, conduit and equipment access before feature panels are installed.

  • Electrical load
  • Network route
  • Accessible sockets
  • Spare conduit / upgrade path

Gaming Room Colour & Lighting Palette

Dark backgrounds can support screens—but the room still needs depth when the RGB is off.

The palette should look intentional in daylight and normal white light, not only under coloured LEDs. These hex values are design references rather than manufacturer paint codes; physical samples should be reviewed in the room.

#25272B

Screen Charcoal

Low-reflection background for selected gaming walls, media units and darker joinery.

#3C4045

Graphite Grey

Secondary wall or acoustic-panel tone that adds depth without making the entire room black.

#696761

Warm Smoke

Mid-tone neutral for fabric, carpet and softer surfaces where pure grey would feel cold.

#76553E

Walnut Core

Timber reference that warms black technology, metal and coloured lighting.

#17191C

Soft Black

Small high-contrast accents, hardware, shelving and technology frames rather than every surface.

#24D4E8

Electric Cyan

Controlled programmable-light or graphic accent; not intended as a blanket wall colour.

#7555FF

Arcade Violet

Optional RGB scene colour for streaming, display shelves and immersive evening mode.

#E249A6

Signal Magenta

Secondary programmable accent for dual-colour scenes, artwork or small accessories.

Gaming Interior Design by Use Case

A gaming room is not one product—the layout changes with the player and equipment.

We can design one dedicated room or integrate gaming into another part of the home. Each use case has a different technical and visual priority.

PC

PC Gaming Room Interior Design

We plan the workstation around the exact monitor configuration, keyboard/mouse area, speakers, microphone, camera, PC tower and peripherals. Full-height storage can hold boxes and accessories while an open rear service channel keeps cables accessible.

Console

PS5 / Xbox Gaming Room

A console room is screen-and-seating led. We coordinate the main display, soundbar or surround setup, controller charging, console ventilation, game storage, blackout/glare control and a comfortable social seating arrangement that can also work for films.

Streaming

Gaming Streaming Room

Streaming needs controlled voice acoustics, camera framing, front/fill/background light, equipment mounting and an intentional backdrop. We hide technical clutter while preserving access because cameras, microphones and capture hardware change frequently.

Racing

Sim Racing Room

For racing, we measure the cockpit and all moving parts, screen stand, seat adjustment and entry path. We also plan floor protection, speaker/subwoofer position, ventilation and how the rig relates to a second desk or spectator seat if the room has more than one function.

Flight

Flight Simulator Room

Flight simulators can require wider controls, multiple screens, button panels and more complex cable routes. A modular desk or cockpit strategy lets controls be serviced or upgraded without rebuilding the whole room.

Family

Family Games & Media Room

A family room can combine console gaming, films, board games and casual PC use. We keep technology integrated into the joinery, provide flexible seating and use warmer finishes so the space remains part of the home rather than a specialist room only one person enjoys.

Teen

Teen Gaming Bedroom

A bedroom setup needs stronger separation between sleep, study and gaming. We avoid placing bright LEDs directly at the bed, integrate storage, keep the desk ergonomically usable for schoolwork and plan equipment so the room can evolve as interests change.

Luxury

Luxury Gaming & Entertainment Suite

A larger villa or penthouse can combine gaming desks, simulator, console lounge, bar or snack station, cinema-scale audio, display joinery and automation. The strongest luxury rooms hide infrastructure, control sound and keep each activity visually coherent rather than adding more screens simply because space is available.

Commercial

Gaming Lounge & Esports Interior

Commercial gaming spaces require repeated stations, staff supervision, high equipment density, network infrastructure, accessible circulation, stronger power/cooling, durable furniture and acoustic zoning. These projects must be developed as operational commercial interiors, not scaled-up bedrooms.

Hybrid

Gaming + Home Office

If the same desk is used for work and play, we plan neutral task lighting, camera background, paperwork/storage and cable management so the workspace can look professional during the day, then shift to a more immersive gaming scene at night.

Gaming Room Interior Design Across Abu Dhabi

The gaming setup should respond to the property type and lifestyle—not just the neighbourhood name.

These are design scenarios for common Abu Dhabi property contexts. We still use your exact floor plan, building rules, room dimensions, equipment and budget before recommending a solution.

Al Reem Island

Compact apartment gaming room with skyline views

In an Al Reem Island apartment, the gaming setup may need to share a bedroom, study or second living area. We can use a wall-mounted or built-in desk, monitor arms, full-height storage, a ventilated PC bay and blackout/sheers so the city view remains usable without reflecting across the screen. A restrained charcoal-and-walnut palette can make the setup feel adult and integrated rather than consuming the entire room.

Best for tower apartments where floor area, window glare, neighbour noise and integrated storage are major design constraints.
Al Maryah Island

Premium gaming and work setup with a sharper finish

An Al Maryah Island apartment can support a more polished gaming studio: dark veneer, stone or metal accents, smoked glass display, flush cable channels and carefully controlled programmable lighting. If the room doubles as a home office, the camera-facing background and neutral work-light scene are designed alongside the gaming scene.

Useful for premium apartments where technology needs to sit inside a more sophisticated city interior.
Yas Island

Social console room and entertainment lounge

A Yas Island villa or apartment can lean toward social gaming: large display, sectional sofa, console storage, low-glare ambient lighting, sound treatment and space for friends. In a larger property, a simulator or arcade element can sit in a secondary zone while the main lounge remains comfortable for films and sports.

A strong direction for entertainment-led homes where gaming is social rather than only desk-based.
Khalifa City

Dedicated villa gaming room with stronger acoustic control

A spare bedroom or family-floor room in Khalifa City can become a dedicated PC, console or mixed gaming suite. With more space, we can separate desk and sofa zones, add acoustic wall treatment, larger equipment storage and independent light scenes. If several high-performance PCs or a simulator are planned, power and cooling should be checked before joinery is built.

Well suited to family villas where a dedicated room allows stronger technical and acoustic planning.
Mohammed Bin Zayed City

Multi-zone gaming room for a larger family villa

In a larger Mohammed Bin Zayed City villa, the room can support two or more stations, console seating, display storage and a simulator without crowding. We create clear equipment zones, maintain circulation and keep the technical services accessible behind the visual layer.

Useful when the room can become a shared entertainment suite rather than a single desk setup.
Al Raha Beach

Waterfront apartment gaming without blocking the glazing

At Al Raha Beach, we would normally avoid building tall gaming furniture across the primary window. A side-wall PC setup, low media unit, controlled blinds and warmer finishes can preserve the waterfront view while still creating a darker, lower-glare gaming environment in the evening.

A good fit for glazed apartments where the exterior view is too valuable to sacrifice to a full-height gaming wall.
Abu Dhabi Corniche & Al Khalidiyah

Existing apartment conversion with practical upgrades

In an established Corniche or Al Khalidiyah apartment, a gaming room may be created without a full structural renovation. We can upgrade power/data locations, wall finishes, desk/storage joinery, window treatments, lighting and acoustic softness while keeping the existing room shell largely intact.

A practical approach where the layout already works and the priority is turning one room into a cleaner, more technically resolved setup.
Saadiyat Island

Design-led gaming room that still belongs in a refined home

For a Saadiyat residence, the gaming interior can be visually quieter: timber, textured fabric acoustic panels, integrated black technology, curated display shelves and hidden RGB rather than exposed strips on every surface. The room remains immersive at night but reads as a considered interior during the day.

Appropriate where material quality, art and architectural restraint are more important than a strong esports aesthetic.
Al Bateen

Private entertainment room with gaming, cinema and display

An Al Bateen villa can support a premium hybrid room combining console gaming, cinema audio, collectibles, a bar or refreshment cabinet and a discreet PC station. We coordinate audio, lighting, joinery and seating so the room feels like one entertainment suite rather than several unrelated hobby corners.

Useful for larger villas where gaming is part of a broader private entertainment brief.
Masdar City

Compact technology-led gaming and work room

A Masdar City apartment can suit a clean, efficient gaming setup: compact desk, monitor arms, neutral cabinetry, excellent cable management, task lighting and a few programmable light accents. The room can shift from study or remote work to gaming without changing the furniture.

A strong fit for smaller contemporary apartments where one desk needs to support several digital activities.

Small Gaming Room Interior Design

Small gaming rooms need better geometry—not more wall decoration.

A compact room can still feel premium when the equipment footprint is controlled and storage, circulation and lighting are designed together.

Use monitor arms to recover desk depth

Where the screen and desk system allow it, monitor arms can reduce stand footprint and free more usable worktop. The wall or desk fixing still needs to suit the equipment weight and movement.

Build storage upward, not into the chair zone

Closed cabinets above or beside the workstation are more useful than low furniture that blocks chair movement. Frequently used devices stay within reach while boxes and rarely used accessories move higher.

Use one strong feature wall

A compact room usually looks more expensive with one coordinated wall containing screen, acoustic treatment, light and storage than with RGB strips and foam scattered across every surface.

Choose equipment before custom desk fabrication

PC case size, monitor width, speaker footprint, microphone arm and console dimensions can change the required desk. Buying or finalising the key equipment first reduces expensive joinery alterations.

Keep the door and wardrobe fully usable

A gaming chair pulled back from the desk should not trap the user or block the wardrobe. We test the room in its 'in use' position, not only with the chair pushed neatly under the desk.

Let lighting create depth instead of adding objects

A few concealed light lines, backlighting and shelf accents can make a small room feel layered without taking physical space. Decorative objects are then limited to pieces you actually want to display.

Gaming Room Interior Design Cost in Abu Dhabi

Price the room by technical scope, fit-out and equipment—not by how many RGB strips it has.

Gaming-room budgets vary unusually widely because one project may be a desk, paint and lighting refresh while another includes acoustic construction, custom joinery, cinema audio, smart controls, upgraded cooling and a simulator. The figures below combine current 2026 Abu Dhabi interior-design benchmarks with a current UAE gaming-room fit-out guide so you can understand the planning bands. They are external references, not fixed Bella quotations.

Important

PCs, monitors, televisions, consoles, gaming chairs, racing/flight simulators, VR hardware, specialist AV, network equipment and high-end automation may be client-supplied or separately procured depending on the agreed scope. Electrical load, HVAC capacity, sound isolation, landlord/building requirements, bespoke joinery, imported equipment and programme can materially change the price. Gaming Room Design for Abu Dhabi Conditions

Power, cooling, glare and neighbour noise matter more than the RGB colour.

A high-performance gaming room can place unusual demands on a normal bedroom or study. We identify the technical risks early and coordinate specialists where calculation or certification is required.

01

Cooling and equipment heat

High-performance PCs, multiple monitors, consoles and AV equipment add heat to the room. We keep vents clear, avoid sealed equipment cabinets and involve MEP/HVAC specialists when the existing cooling needs to be checked or modified.

02

Electrical load and socket planning

A multi-PC room or commercial gaming space can have significant electrical demand. Socket quantity, circuit capacity, UPS strategy and load should be reviewed by the appropriate electrical professional rather than relying on extension leads as permanent infrastructure.

03

Network reliability

For competitive or streaming use, wired data can be preferable where feasible. Router, switch, access point and data cabling locations should be planned before decorative wall panels and joinery close the routes.

04

Window glare and blackout

Abu Dhabi daylight can produce strong screen reflections and heat. We position displays away from direct glare where possible and coordinate sheers, blackout blinds or curtains so daytime use does not require making the room permanently dark.

05

Neighbour and bedroom sound

Headsets reduce speaker noise but not voice chat, chair movement, subwoofer bass or group gaming. In apartments and bedrooms we decide whether simple room absorption is enough or whether the brief requires proper sound-isolation construction.

06

Dust and open hardware

Open shelving, PC intakes and dark surfaces show dust quickly. We allow equipment access for cleaning and balance display shelving with closed storage so maintenance remains realistic.

07

Fire/life-safety and decorative panels

Commercial spaces and some residential fit-outs require appropriate material and fire/life-safety coordination. Acoustic foam, fabric panels, cables and ceiling systems should never be selected only for appearance where project requirements call for tested specifications.

08

Commercial esports infrastructure

A current Khalifa City gaming-center project illustrates the scale difference: hundreds of square metres, high equipment density, electrical upgrades, acoustic zoning and structural work. A commercial esports venue must be treated as a full commercial fit-out, not a residential gaming room multiplied by seat count.

Approval requirements depend on the work. Abu Dhabi DMT's simplified minor-works process covers qualifying non-structural modifications, maintenance and interior finishes, but structural work, significant MEP changes, fire/life-safety interfaces, commercial entertainment uses and building/developer requirements may require additional approvals. Bella's interior-design scope should not be read as engineering certification unless that specialist discipline is expressly included.

Gaming Room Design Process

Lock the technical geometry before decorative decisions become expensive.

The timeline depends on whether we are planning one desk, renovating a complete room or delivering a cinema-and-gaming suite. Equipment decisions should be made early enough to inform the room.

011–2 weeks

Gaming Brief + Room Survey

We record room dimensions, doors, windows, ceiling height, existing AC, power/data, players, game types, screen/monitor sizes, PCs or consoles, audio, streaming, simulator and what equipment you plan to keep or upgrade.

021–3 weeks

Layout + Equipment Geometry

We test desk or screen position, seating, ergonomics, circulation, simulator/VR space, storage and the technical route for power, data, ventilation and cables.

032–4 weeks

3D Design + Material Direction

The visual layer is developed around the approved geometry: wall treatment, joinery, display, colour, acoustic finishes, neutral/task lighting and RGB scenes.

042–6 weeks

Technical Coordination

According to scope, we develop joinery, ceiling, lighting, electrical/data, equipment ventilation and acoustic interfaces, coordinating AV, MEP or specialist consultants where required.

054–10+ weeks

Gaming Room Interior Design FAQs

Questions to answer before you build the gaming room

These answers focus on the decisions that affect comfort, budget and buildability: desk geometry, screens, acoustics, lighting, cooling, sound, equipment and Abu Dhabi approvals.

01What is gaming interior design?

Gaming interior design is the planning of an interior around gaming equipment and user comfort. It covers layout, ergonomics, screens, seating, acoustics, lighting, power, data, cooling, cable management, storage and visual identity. It is broader than decorating a desk with LED lights.

02What should be planned first in a gaming room?

Start with the game type, players and equipment. A PC setup, console lounge, racing simulator and VR room need different geometry. Once the primary equipment and seating positions are fixed, power, data, cooling, lighting, acoustics and joinery can be designed around them.

03How far should a gaming monitor be from my eyes?

There is no universal gaming distance for every screen size and resolution. As an ergonomic baseline, OSHA workstation guidance recommends enough desk depth to keep a monitor at least about 20 inches / 50 cm from the eyes, with the screen directly in front and the top at or just below eye level. We then adjust for your actual display, eyesight and preferred field of view.

04Do I need an expensive gaming chair?

Price alone does not guarantee comfort. The chair needs to support your body, desk height, arm position and sitting habits. Adjustable seat height, back support, armrests and enough room to move are usually more important than a racing-style appearance.

05Should a gaming room be completely dark?

No. You want controllable light, not permanent darkness. The room should have neutral task or cleaning light, low-glare ambient light, screen/bias lighting where useful, and optional RGB scenes. Windows can be managed with sheers or blackout layers when required.

06Do acoustic panels soundproof a gaming room?

Not by themselves. Acoustic panels mainly control reflections and reverberation inside the room. Sound isolation from adjacent bedrooms or neighbours can require heavier wall/ceiling construction, doors, seals and careful treatment of service penetrations.

07How do you hide gaming cables without making upgrades difficult?

We use accessible cable trays, desk grommets, rear service gaps, removable joinery panels and spare conduit where appropriate. Cables should be concealed from normal view but reachable without dismantling the room.

08Does a high-performance gaming room need extra air-conditioning?

Sometimes. PCs, multiple displays, consoles, amplifiers and people add heat. Whether the existing AC is sufficient depends on the room and equipment load. We can plan ventilation and equipment clearances, while an MEP/HVAC professional should assess capacity where modification or calculation is required.

09How much does a gaming room interior cost in Abu Dhabi?

There is no fixed rate. Abu Dhabi design references place concept design around AED 150–250/m², concept plus 3D around AED 200–300/m² and broader full-service design around AED 300–500/m². A current regional gaming-room guide places essential refreshes around AED 25,000–55,000, standard gaming rooms around AED 60,000–130,000, premium gaming lounges around AED 130,000–280,000 and cinema/games suites around AED 280,000–600,000+. Hardware and specialist systems may be separate.

10Can Bella design only the room without supplying the gaming PC or console?

Yes. We can design the room around equipment you already own or equipment specifications supplied by you or your technology vendor. The appointment can cover design only, interior fit-out coordination, FF&E or a broader turnkey scope depending on what you need.

11Can my gaming room also work as a home office?

Yes. We design separate work and gaming lighting scenes, professional camera/background composition, closed storage and disciplined cable management so the same workstation can look appropriate during meetings and more immersive after work.

12Can I combine a home cinema and gaming room?

Yes. Console gaming works particularly well in a hybrid media room. Screen size, seating, audio, lighting and equipment storage should be planned together. If you want immersive surround sound, a specialist AV layout can be coordinated with the interior and acoustic design.

13Can Dolby Atmos be used in a gaming room?

Yes, if your source equipment, games/content and audio system support it. Dolby provides multiple home-theatre speaker configurations and recommends choosing the layout around room size and seating. For a serious system, speaker locations and calibration should be coordinated with an AV specialist rather than positioned only for symmetry.

14What is the best flooring for a gaming room?

It depends on chair movement, sound and cleaning. Low-pile carpet or carpet tile adds acoustic softness; LVT or other hard flooring is easier for rolling chairs; a hard floor plus correctly sized rug can combine both. We choose around the actual room and use.

15Can you design a two-person gaming room?

Yes. We plan enough desk width and depth for both users, independent chair movement, separate storage, sufficient power/data and lighting that can be controlled without one setup interfering with the other.

16Do gaming-room renovations in Abu Dhabi need approval?

Simple furniture and decorative changes are different from altering partitions, ceilings, electrical, HVAC or other building systems. DMT has a simplified process for qualifying minor works, while tower management, developers and commercial authorities may impose additional requirements. The exact scope and property should be checked before construction.

17Do you provide gaming interior design Dubai projects as well?

The service can be discussed for UAE projects outside Abu Dhabi, including clients comparing gaming interior design Dubai options, subject to project location, scope and delivery requirements. This page's area examples and main local guidance focus on Abu Dhabi.

18What should I send Bella for a gaming room proposal?

Send the Abu Dhabi area/building, room dimensions or floor plan, photos, ceiling height, windows, existing AC/power/data, number of users, PC/console models, monitor or TV sizes, speakers, streaming or simulator equipment, furniture you want to keep, reference images, approximate budget and target completion date. The more accurately we know the equipment, the less guesswork is built into the room.

Design the Room Around How You Actually Play

Send us the room, the equipment and the budget—we will turn them into one coordinated gaming interior.

Share your Abu Dhabi location, room dimensions or floor plan, current photos, PC/console and display details, speakers, streaming or simulator equipment, number of users, colours or references you like, budget range and target date. Bella can then identify the correct desk/screen geometry, technical infrastructure, acoustic and lighting approach, level of joinery and fit-out, and whether the project should stay as a focused gaming room or become a broader entertainment suite.
